Are no-code platforms the future of CRM?

With the ever-changing digital landscape, first party and zero party data is on everyone’s mind. Gone are the days of CRM being managed by a standalone specialist team within a business and no one else caring about what happens. CEOs of small businesses, product teams, business development teams and everyone else cares (or at least should care) and expects more from CRM, and faster.

With traditional CRM platforms requiring coding knowledge and significant platform-specific expertise for both initial set up and day to day use, this is simply not possible and businesses of all sizes are starting to realise just how limiting this can be.

So what are no-code CRM platforms?

No-code CRM platforms provide intuitive drag-and-drop interfaces and templates allowing key stakeholders to implement and manage a CRM platform without any need for coding knowledge. They are designed with the end user in mind and make CRM accessible to stakeholders regardless of technical expertise.

Why are they becoming more popular?

  1. Scalability: Ability to easily add to existing set up with databases, templates, and in in many cases also connecting to multiple channels and 3rd party platforms, no-code platforms have the potential to grow with your business.
  2. Stakeholder empowerment: CRM is no longer restricted to those with specific technical expertise, it’s easy for stakeholders across the business to see performance and get involved in CRM.
  3. Easy-to-use templates: Straight forward drag and drop templates for emails and landing pages make build very efficient, and while there will always be some restrictions with this approach especially in customising these templates, the pros outweigh the cons in this scenario for a lot of businesses.

Which platform is right for you?

There are many options on the market right now including HubSpot and Creatio, with growing user bases and expanding suites of products and integrations to help businesses streamline their marketing efforts. But we predict a lot more will become available as demand grows even further – a good example being Monday Sales CRM, which promises the same user-friendly experience their existing customers are used to from their work management products. It’s definitely a space worth keeping your eye on.
